Cardiac Rehabilitation

Cardiac rehabilitation is a program designed for individuals, basis the condition to improve the health and well-being of individuals recovering from heart conditions or surgery under medical supervision. 

It involves a combination of exercise, education, and support to help patients regain strength, manage risk factors, and switch to a heart-healthy lifestyle. 

Cardiac rehabilitation is recommended for not only for the individuals who have suffered a heart attack, heart failure, angina, or have undergone heart surgery such as bypass surgery or stent placement, but also those with other heart conditions or risk factors for heart disease. 

Cardiac rehabilitation program entails:

  • Exercise training:

Supervised physical activity designed to the individual’s needs and abilities, and lead to improve cardiovascular fitness and endurance. 

  • Education:

Learning about heart-healthy living, including nutrition, medication management, stress reduction, and smoking cessation. 

  • Psychosocial support:

Addressing the emotional and psychological impact of heart disease, providing support and counselling to help patients cope with their condition.
